Chamber Sponsors "Business of the Week" Table for Members at Farmer's Market

Opening of the 2009 Oak Lawn Farmer's Market Opening Day at the Oak Lawn Farmer’s Market is this week, and the Chamber again will be there at 7:00 a.m. to greet vendors and shoppers alike with hot coffee and fresh donuts, courtesy of The Bookends Café (in the Oak Lawn Public Library), and Huck Finn Donuts, respectively.

The Farmer’s Market runs every Wednesday through October from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Village Hall parking lot at 94^th & Raymond Ave. The Market features a variety of fresh produce, as well as breads, jellies & jams, home care products and more.

June is Oak Lawn Auto Dealership Month

The Oak Lawn Village Board recently proclaimed June 2009 as Auto Dealer Month in the Village. This month-long recognition will coincide with the Shop Oak Lawn Sale and New Car Show scheduled for Saturday, June 13 on the Village Green. During the sale, which runs from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., residents and visitors will have the opportunity to check out new car inventory from the Oak Lawn Auto Dealers. More than 40 cars will be on display.

"Oak Lawn has an amazing variety of dealerships that run almost the full range of automobile manufacturers," said Glen Kato, Oak Lawn Chamber President. "You would really be hard pressed not to find the car or motorcycle you are looking for within the Village's borders."

Oak Lawn is home to dealers representing nearly every vehicle brand, including Chevy, Ford, Cadillac, Hyundai and Saturn, to name a few. During 2008, auto sales in Oak Lawn accounted for more than 40 percent of sales tax revenue for the Village. Each year, more than 18,000 autos are sold.

Annual Golf Outing Scheduled for June 15th at Stony Creek Golf Course

Dust off those clubs and lace up those shoes. It’s time for the Chamber’s annual Golf Outing! Traditionally, the Golf Outing is the Chamber’s largest fundraiser. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, July 15^th at Stony Creek Golf Course, 5850 W. 103^rd Street.

The fee of $115 per person includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, dinner and drinks. Other packages include golf only for $80 per person, or $50 for dinner only. For those individuals that prefer to golf with only one club, the Chamber again will offer a Miniature Golf tournament beginning at 4:00 p.m. The cost is $15 per person for mini golf, or $60 per person for mini golf and dinner.
